I. Education:
1. Academic Advising
One of the prime tasks of the PEARL – A Foundation for Educational Excellence is to provide academic advising to school and college students for exchanging information and there by attaining their educational and career goals. This kind of approach (Academic Advising) will facilitate the student to make decisions about his/her life goals by creating a plan to reach those goals. Our academic advisers can assist in this process by helping the student understand options, determine resources and, when necessary, identify alternatives.
2. Academic Counseling and Academic Guidance
The PEARL – A Foundation for Educational Excellence provide students with information regarding academic planning, assist students in planning and implementing immediate and long range goals, develop individualized student educational plans, conduct student success interventions, provide professional career counseling, conduct orientation and advising services for students, teach personality development/college Success courses through Academic Counseling and Academic Guidance.
3. Educational Documentation
The PEARL – A Foundation for Educational Excellence assists in documenting the curricular aspects, community engagement-case studies, evaluation of students – case presentations, quality management, internal quality assurance cell activities, library and information services: a case presentation, students feedback and participation-case studies, students participation in quality enhancement, teacher education, etc. in colleges/universities through Educational Documentation for the quality enhancement in Accreditation Process.
4. Academic and Administrative Audit in Colleges and Universities
The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) has evolved certain benchmarks for ascertaining and ensuring the quality at different levels of Higher Education. Internal Quality Assurance Cells (IQACs) are established in almost all Higher Educational Institutions (HEI) to identify the benchmarks required for achieving the quality. Thus, IQAC plays an important role in improving the quality of academic and administrative activities of the Institution. The academic, administrative, curricular and extra-curricular activities carried out by the faculty of the University/College needs to be assessed by internal committee as well as by external academicians and peers as their appreciations and valuable suggestions boost the confidence of the faculty. The IQAC of the University has decided to carry out the stringent quality assessment with the help of an external peer review committee. In view of the above The PEARL – A Foundation for Educational Excellence will undertake the task of assessing the performance of academic and administrative units of the University/College and give valuable suggestions required to achieve remarkable academic standards in the competitive educational environment through Academic and Administrative Audit process.
Similar to high education institutions, the PEARL – A Foundation for Educational Excellence will also offer Academic and Administrative Audit to the Schools in order to improve the gross enrollment ratio, administrative and teaching skills, quality enhancement, etc.
In order to recognize the outstanding service to the educational sector every year, the PEARL – A Foundation for Educational Excellence will have an important exercise of presenting educational excellence awards to schools, educationists, administrators, teachers and students in recognition of their contributions to the field of education and excellence in any of the various academic, administrative activities, sports and extra-curricular activities. Leaders from private, Government and public educational institutions, policy makers, representatives from the Government and key people from sector affiliates, assemble to recognize and applaud the achievements of the best educational institutions, administrators, teachers, students in schools and colleges.
II. Research Guidance and Counseling
The PEARL – A Foundation for Educational Excellence will guide and counseling the higher education students to pursue their research in the area of Biology, Environment, Biodiversity, Energy and Industry with reference to the funding sources, fellowship programmes, reporting the research results by the process of documentation/publication, patenting their invention/discovery, postdoctoral research programmes in abroad, award and reorganizations available, etc.
III. Women Empowerment
To promote gender equality and to aggrandize the habit of considering women as valuable assets of the society and to rescue women from slave, dowry, prostitution and other social problems which affects the development of women. To form Self Help Groups (SHG’s) among women and initiate credit and saving scheme for their own betterment financially, socially and economically.
IV. Rehabilitation Programmes to Disable Persons
To work for the rehabilitation of the physically handicapped and mentally retarded and for the welfare of deserted, destitute, orphans, widows and socially handicapped.
V. Initiate Action for Development of Children
To relieve the children from exploitation of child labour and to continue their studies and to provide a day care centre for the street children which facilitates them to feel homely and ensures established conducive environment for the over all development of their personality.
VI. Alcohol and Drug Abuse
To undertake alcohol and drug abuse awareness programmes and preventive education programmes to establish de-addiction centres, counseling centres and after care centres and related activities.
